The main airport in the city is Gothenburg Landvetter Airport. The airport is located 20 kilometers southeast of Gothenburg city entre and received 6.4 million passengers in 2016, making it the second busiest airport after Stockholm in Sweden.
There is a terminal building and a runway in Landvetter Airport. There is a VIP lounge that the private charter passengers can use and there is not a FBO based in the airport. But the passengers of private charters still enjoy exclusive services offered by expert handling agents such as personal greeting, escorting throughout the customs’ and passport or security checks, use of VIP lounge and accommodation and car rental bookings at preferential rates.
Another choice in Gothenburg is to use Gothenburg City Airport which is solely serving general aviation flights. The airport is located only 5 kilometers north of Gothenburg City Centre. It was operational till the end of 2015 but due to costs of renewing the runway and terminal buildings, it is closed for commercial aircrafts. There are police helicopters, a flight school and EMS helicopters based in the airport and it has spacious parking spaces and generally available airspace.
